Catherine Henry

Catherine Henry began her legal career representing indigent clients at the Public Defender’s Office in the Sixth Judicial Circuit. She spent just under two years in the misdemeanor domestic violence division, where she defended people accused of violations of injunction, domestic battery, domestic assault, and stalking charges. During this time, she took several cases to trial and was effective in getting many more cases dropped without the need for trial. She was later promoted to the position of Baker Act attorney, where she represented individuals facing involuntary hospitalization. Catherine spent her final two years in public service representing clients facing felony charges in circuit court. Most notably, she partnered with the American Civil Liberties Union to litigate the issue of pretrial detention, in order to secure affordable bonds and pretrial release for her clients stuck in custody pending criminal charges.

During her time with the Public Defender's Office, she gained valuable trial experience and always focused on client-centered representation, which she carries with her in private practice. Communication and accessibility are key components of her representation. When you hire Catherine Henry to defend you, you get Catherine Henry to defend you. She will aggressively fight for your rights and hold the state accountable. She has the knowledge and experience to build your defense, while still being accessible to speak with you directly about your case.
